Preparing Decaf Using One Cup Coffee Makers

Decaf or decaffeinated coffee is much in demand nowadays. With findings confirming harmful effects of caffeine content of coffee, this has been the emerging trend. Caffeine has been held responsible for chest pain (or heartburn) that is often experienced after taking in a coffee drink, as well as producing other problems.

Heartburn and other ills of consuming caffeine

Upon consumption of coffee, heartburn is often caused because of stomach acids leaking into the esophagus. The lining of the esophagus gets irritated as a result of the action of the acid thus leading to feeling of heartburn or an uneasy chest pain sensation. Caffeine consumption has also been known to cause constipation and lead to insomnia or sleeplessness.

Bikes, Blues, Bbq, And Brunswick Stew

Well… it’s the middle of summer and a great time for barbecuing. There are lots of contests and festivals going on in the weeks and months to come. I saw an ad in our local newspaper for a Bikes and BBQ festival that should be fun since I love BBQ and riding my Harley Sportster. One thing I like about Blues, Bikes, and BBQ… is they raise a lot of money for charities.

Restaurant Review - Fogo De Chao, Or Holy Meat On A Stick

A normal night out with a few friends all of a sudden turned into a celebration. I don’t know what we were celebrating, other than the fact it was Thursday and this particular group of friends hadn’t seen much of each other over the summer. So rather than join the rest of Minnesota at the fairgrounds, since this was the end of August, we all met up at a ginormous restaurant on Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis for a different kind of “food on a stick” experience. This joint seats over 200 people and was very crowded so I guess we weren’t the only ones looking for alternatives to Sloppy Joe on a stick. Fogo de Chao, (Portuguese for campfire) serves all of their meals on a stick. Well they’re actually more like a cross between a long sword and barbecue skewer. This Brazilian chain opened in late April and has been winner with locals and tourists alike, but most likely tourists I suspect. Our local fascination with food on a stick really doesn’t go much beyond Labor Day.

Christmas Traditions To Start With Children - Try Scandinavian Potato Sausage

~~*~~

My Mother-in-Law has a wonderful potato sausage made up at a sausage company nearby where she lives. Lucky her! I know of none where I live that would do this for me. She serves this very Scandinavian Sausage with cranberry sauce. Also on her Christmas holiday table are some other wonderfully flavored items. Presulta, which is a recipe for meat loaf essentially. (That recipe is also posted, find it on my article list on this ezine) Presulta is served cold with white vinegar making it ‘very’ unique. Traditional Swedish Rice Pudding that is served hot. Swedish Corn Pudding, often a children’s favorite, mine when I was growing up anyway. Twenty Four Fruit Salad, which I really cannot say how Scandinavian that is but it sure is yummy. She has alternatives to that salad as well, one is called Easy Twenty Four Hour Salad and the other one is called Easier Twenty Four Hour Salad. Too cutie huh?!

An Entire Disney Gang Party Menu With A Unique Twist

The entire Disney Gang all make for great entertainment separately and since there are just so many Disney movies, why not simply celebrate all of them in one party. This allows for a huge number of different ways to have your themed party. You could simply decorate with posters and watch the various Disney movies out there, or you could focus on a specific group, such as pirate themed or space themed, maybe even something as simple as just your favorites. You could just have the main group of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Watching a variety of episodes all the way from Steam Boat Willie on the most recent episodes. Thought with so many classics, you won’t be able to finish them all in a single day, or week for that matter.

Making Gourmet Chocolates Yourself

A few weeks ago I thought it would be a good idea to make some gourmet food for a party I was going to arrange. Well I put on my chefs hat and finished up making some truffles, and wow, my friends thought they were fantastic and actually thought that they were gourmet chocolates that I had bought from a quality gourmet food store.

I would like to point out that making gourmet chocolates for yourself is difficult and will take a lot of time, however to be positive it does give you the opportunity to try out some recipes that you probably could not get from the local store.

A Fantastic List Of 25 High Fiber Foods Along With Their Calorific Values

There are a number of ways in which high amounts of fiber benefit the human body; these benefits are listed as follows:

Benefits of undertaking a high fiber diet
It helps us maintain regular bowel movements - so is an excellent dietary addition to those who suffer from constipation or any resulting hemorrhoids.

Promotes normal cholesterol levels - a high fiber diet will aid those who are at risk from heart disease. That’s probably why you see characters in TV dramas, which have heart scares, being force fed high fiber breakfast cereals in place of their normal diet of eggs, sausage and bacon.
