Medifast Weight Loss - How I Lost Over Fifty Pounds
After about six months on Medifast, I’ve lost well over fifty pounds. I am constantly asked how I did it. People want to know if I have some unknown secret because I have never really succeeded on a diet plan before. I think some people may have even suspected that I was engaging in harmful or dangerous diet and health practices, but I can assure them, and you, that I was and am not.
The way I lost the weight is pretty simple and straightforward. There is no real secret involved. I basically made sure I fully understood and completely committed to the diet plan I was on for the right reasons. This was pretty simple, but a step I had not fully taken in the past. Once I understood that my choices were really pretty limited (which medifast meals I wanted to chose for the day and which lean and green meal I was going to prepare) a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. Free from having to measure, calculate or come up with a diet plan, I knew I could then focus on healing my body, making it healthy and loving myself.
This may sound simplistic, but it was huge for me because there were only a few reasons why I failed at dieting before and this was one of them. Before, I was dieting out of fear and bad feelings rather than from a place of self concern and good health. I cared about how others perceived me and I did not like myself very much. I wasn’t trying to lose weight from a position of wanting to improve myself for me. From the start, my mental and emotional state was not right for long term changes.
Second, I was unwilling to add moving my body into the mix. I have finally learned that movement is necessary to my body’s well being and best performance. My body actually craves exercise now and as hard as it is for me to believe, I actually enjoy it.
The last reason I failed before is that I did not see consistent results. This was not always the fault of the diet. Mostly, this was my fault. However, when you are seeing continuous positive results, it’s much easier to stick with the program.
So for all of the people who want to know how I really did it, the answer is very simple. I stuck with the program, approached weight loss as an opportunity to love and improve upon myself and I embraced moving in ways that were fun for me personally. When I did these things, I saw drastic and wonderful results and from that point on, keeping the momentum going was really very easy.
