Garden Weddings
1. Vintage is a great look; solid linens and overlays can be purchased from a market or fabric shop.
2. Decorate trees with lights, then add hand-written place cards for the guest and hand them from the trees by ribbon (these make great keepsakes.)
3. Hang white lights off the trees attaching to the next.
4. Keep menus simple, Grilling favourites are affordable and easy
5. As far as catering goes, make it a buffet-style, with large translucent jugs, simple but effective.
6. For the head table, try and get a rectangular one, decorate with while lights and use flowers to decorate corners.
7. Potpourris in cone shaped bags, hung from the arms of the chairs also make great decoration and nice keepsakes too.
8. Use various shades of one colour; this creates a very stylish look when accented with white or cream.
9. Instead of a traditional cake topper, try a floral topper.
10. Purchase a birdbath; the guest can then make wishes for you or anyone by throwing in flower petals or pennies.
11. Instead of a Disc jockey, Hire a live band.
12. Serve hot drinks in vintage cups and saucers, purchase these from your local market, it does not matter if they are chipped, or if the colours do not match, still go for it.
13. When it comes to wedding invitations, make them simple, hand-made paper; including pressed flowers; tied with a ribbon, it helps to set the theme for your wedding.
14. A trellis decorated with Ivy and fresh flowers makes a great vocal and viewpoint at your ceremony. Also you could use the trellis at the reception, by placing the cake table under it.
15. Small (painted) terracotta pots with seedlings can make great keepsakes.
16. Big mason jars filled with sand, then tea lights make a lovely decoration to pathways or even tables. They can also be hung from trees if they are wrapped in heavy wire.
17. For chair covers; tie a white sash that has a flower bud in each knot. Roses are probably best for this as they are strong flowers.
